Board Vacancy

Dear Community Members,

Richland School District 88A Board of Education is accepting applications to fill one vacancy of a 2-year term as result of no candidate filing to run for the position during the April 2, 2019 Election.

The individual appointed will serve on the Richland School Board from the date of their appointment until April 2021.
The Board is looking for a member who will assist in School District in achieving its recently established mission: β€œTo develop the whole student through a community effort focused on excellence in education, values, and enriching opportunities.”

Requirements to serves as a board member:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding appointment
  • Be a registered voter
  • Not a child sex offender
  • Not hold another incompatible public office
  • Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the District

Application packets are available at the Richland District Office located at 1919 Caton Farm Road, Crest Hill IL, 60403 beginning Thursday, April 25, 2019 during the regular business hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Completed applications will be accepted at the same location through Thursday May 9, 2019 at 4:00 PM. All applications should be addressed to Mrs. Stephanie S. Hernandez, Board President.

Richland installed a new phone system over Spring Break. Starting Monday, April 8th, we will have separate phone numbers for each building office.

The district office number is (815) 744-7288.
The junior high number is (815) 744-6166.
The elementary school is (815) 725-8391.

Each building will have its own auto attendant. Please follow the prompts to reach staff members.
